NEW! Hot Stone massage
A stone massage uses cold or water-heated stones to apply pressure and heat to the body. Stones coated in oil can also be used by the therapist delivering various massaging strokes. The hot stones used are commonly Basalt stones (or lava rocks) which over time have become extremely polished and smooth. As the stones are placed along the recipient's back, they help to retain heat which then deeply penetrates into the muscles, releasing tension.

NEW! Kobido massage
The perfect massage & beauty combination

Kobido was the beauty ritual of 15th Century Japonese royalty. Their secret is now finally unveiled! Our specialized Kobido therapist performs a 90-minute hand choreography that combines long soothing movements with more energ etic ones ; and a va et vient of hot towels and cold stones. More than 40 rhythmic yet precise manoeuvers pamper and stimulate all 140 muscles of the face and neck.

You will experience a delicious relaxing sensation all along your back; energy regeneration due to a precise acupressure technique; tonification of muscles and circulation system; lymphatic system drainage with a particular bambou stick maneouver. Wrinkles are smoothed, collegene production is stimulated, skin tone is improved and eyes brighten. Sleep better, release head tensions…. so many benefits, and you don't need to head to Japan. Club Atwater offers it!

Developped in the 50's-60's, Californian massage is a stress-busting, pampering, experience. It is characterized by long, fluid and enveloping movements that effectively release tension through deep relaxation. The maneuvers are applied directly to the skin using massage oil, and the pace and depth of the maneuvers varies.

Sports / Therapeutic Massage
Massage specific to the movements, needs and injuries of the sport and activities you practice. This massage uses trigger points, active release and deep tissue techniques. Ideal for nagging injuries.

A Japanese therapy that uses pressure applied with thumbs, fingers and palms to the same energy meridians as acupressure and incorporates stretching. It also uses techniques such as rolling, brushing, vibrating, grasping and, in one particular technique developed by Suzuki Yamamoto, pressure is applied with the feet on the person's back, legs and feet.

Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding),petrissage (kneading), tapotement(rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. This style is referred to as "classic massage".
