The pros
Glen Wilson
Glen Wilson is the new Head Squash Professional at the Atwater Club. Glen was recently coaching squash at Dartmouth College in The United States. Before that he was living in is native country of New Zealand where he worked as a High Performance Coach for Squash New Zealand. Glen played the professional mens' tour for 8 years reaching a career high world ranking of 24 and he was a 3 time New Zealand National Champion. His other major career highlights were winning a gold and bronze medal at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Glens aims are to revitalise and invigorate the current junior programs and to introduce as many people as he can to the game of squash by organising programs for the beginner, social and the advanced.
Bernie Reid
Bernie comes to us from New Brunswick, but he has been based in Montreal for the past 3 years working as the Assistant Squash Coach of Cote De Liesse. Bernie is a current member of the World Men’s Professional Squash Association competing on the world tour. His world men’s ranking is in the low 200’s but he is determined to break into the worlds top 100 over the coming seasons.
Facilities
The Atwater Club formerly known as the Montreal Badminton & Squash Club has been organizing squash programs for club members for over 75 years.
The club has 5 International singles courts of which 2 are glass-backed and 2 glass-backed doubles courts. The club has a long and proud reputation of producing numerous provincial and national champions in the open and age categories during its 81-year history. Each year the club plays host to a number of provincial and national championships in both singles and doubles play. The Atwater club is regarded as the premier private racquet club in Quebec.
Adult Programs
There are many adult programs organized by the Pro’s and volunteers from week to week. These activities cater to all playing levels from the serious competitive league player to the once a week social round robin player. A friendly atmosphere awaits you on the squash courts. If you are new to the club or need help finding regular playing partners our pros will be happy to help you out. Below is a list of activities:
- Monthly mixed singles ladder
- Monthly mixed special events / tournaments
- Weekly evening round robins
- Weekly women’s mornings
- Weekly doubles league
- Weekly cut-in doubles
- Montreal Inter-club league teams

Junior Program
There are three different levels of squash clinics offered for juniors at the club.
The Future Stars program is for the younger players from age 6-14 years. These clinics are on Saturday mornings during fall and winter sessions.
The Skills program is for the intermediate players and focuses on skill development. These clinics are on Tuesday/Thursday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. followed by free play and are offered during fall and winter sessions..
The Competitive Program is for the players who aspire to participate in Provincial and National level tournaments. These clinics are on Monday/Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by match play and are offered during fall and winter sessions..

Lessons
The squash professionals are available for lessons 7 days a week. Members who wish to book a lesson can do so by contacting the Squash office and booking with the Pro. The different lesson types available are:
- Private lessons - $45
- Semi-private lessons, 2 persons - $25/person
- Groups, 3 or 4 persons - $20/person
- Groups, 5 or 8 persons - $15/person
All classes are 45 minutes in length.
