The pros
Denyse Julien, Head Professional
Denyse is one of the most decorated badminton players in the history of Canadian Badminton. Denyse has represented Canada in three Olympic Games (1992 in Barcelona, 1996 in Atlanta and 2004 in Athens) and holds the record for most Canadian National Badminton Titles, (31) the most Canadian Women’s Singles titles, (13, as well as the most consecutive titles with 5) and the most Canadian Mixed Doubles titles. (10, including a record 8 consecutive titles) Denyse has also won multiple medals at the Pan American Games (5 Gold, 2 Silver and a Bronze) and the Commonwealth Games. (2 Silver and 2 Bronze) She has also won numerous International tournaments throughout her career.
Denyse is a fully certified level 3 coach; our badminton program has benefitted from her energy and skill since 2004, and we look forward to seeing it flourish and grow under her leadership.

Facilities
The Atwater Club has five badminton courts which are of International caliber. The Atwater Club plays host to many tournaments, both National and International, throughout the season.

Free play bookings:
Bookings can be made only when all participants are present in the club and ready to play. For singles and doubles, each booking is for 30 minutes. If unoccupied, the court reverts to 'open' status and can be rebooked.

Group Lessons
Your Professionals will offer on-court group classes specific to badminton at various times throughout the season.

These classes are designed to improve your level of fitness through drills, and your stroke development through skills.

All players are welcome!

Private lessons
To hone your badminton skills, your Professionals, Denyse Julien and Maxime Bélanger offer a variety of lessons. Whether you prefer Private, Semi-private or Group lessons, there is something available for everyone.

Lesson charges are as follows:

Private: 60 minutes - $60
Semi-private: 60 minutes - $30/person
Group: 60 minutes - $10/person
Play with the pro: 60 minutes, 3 palyers - $20/person

Lesson specials are offered throughout the season and are advertised on the Badminton Bulletin Boards.
